The right to live: STOP BULLYING and BULLYCIDES

The death of a young person because of bullying is always troubling, but what's even more troubling is finding out that even days after the death or on their memorial page that these students have the audacity to continue to bully post-mortem. Cyberbullying and bullying laws aren't quite catching up. To have no regard for human life is despicable. After Jamey Rodemeyer's death, students shouted "good, glad he's dead" and on Phoebe Price's memorial page bullies continued to harass her. All because of their sexual orientation. We need to be more proactive about this issue. Please contact your local government, join anti-bullying organizations, re-post/share/retweet anything that is STOP THE BULLYING related. Ignorance of this issue won't make things any better and it certainly won't give families any peace of mind. Stay aware. The best way to understand what someone is going through is to actually put yourselves in their shoes and feel their pain.

Imagine:
- Being a parent who is absolutely helpless when they see their child coming home crying everyday. They go to the school and everyone seems unable to find the culprits behind their child's sadness. Then one day that child takes their life. It's a whole in their heart created by children your child's own age. You wanted to stop it but you couldn't. It was too late.

-Being the child harassed, bullied, and tormented. No one is listening to you, people are glad you're contemplating suicide. You're being attacked on the internet with comments that will never go away. No one accepts you. You feel so alone, depressed, and suicidal. But you feel that no one seems to care.

Imagining is one thing. Going through it is another heartbreaking process. So whether you been through it or haven't been through it, just know that you can help. Don't let these children die in vain. And if you're going through it right now, just know you're not a victim. The people bullying you are victims. They are victims of self-hatred, insecurity, problems at home, and ignorance. To have the ability to hurt you is done by their inability to love themselves.

Positive Pick Me Up for the Week!

"Riches, mediocrity and poverty begin in the mind."

The economy is rough. Finding a job is a job in itself. Bills are increasing, while funds in your bank account are decreasing. All the while expenses, tolls, gas prices seem to fluctuate and go up, while you're paycheck remains relatively the same. You have to budget every aspect of your life to the cent. You want to scream and shout why me? You have the world on your shoulders and you don't want to carry the weight not now, not at this difficult time.

It's hard. It isn't fair. But you will get through this. Don't let your mind take control of what's left of your sanity. If you have the mindset that things won't get better, then things won't get better for you. If you have the mindset that things will begin to look up once you start to re-evaluate your situation, then things will begin to look up. Don't give up on yourself so easily. The average human has 60,000 thoughts a day, and usually 45,000 of those thoughts will be negative. If you flood your mind with negative thoughts, then your mind becomes a sponge drenched in negativity.

I won't use the phrase "Somebody out there has it worst than you." because that phrase in itself is negative. Thinking of another person who has it worst won't help you for it will only fill your heart with pity and make you temporarily happy off of someone else's misfortune. Instead think of you being in the exact spot you need to be in. You have exactly all the tools you need around you to change your life. One of those tools does not cost money. That tool is your will power to get yourself out of the rut that you may be in now. It is the power of your thoughts and how you will use them to make a difference in your life. Secondly, a big resource is the availability that you have to research and find out what you can do. If you have a question about something, google it, go to the library, ask for a professional opinion. (ex. if you need help with your bills research ways you can lower them or speak to someone with experience). You have everything you need right infront of you. Use it to your advantage. Think of yourself in a better spot and use your will power to get there.
